Estherwood, Mermentau & Morse
The villages of Estherwood, Mermentau and Morse are home to many who enjoy a strong sense of community where residents look out for their fellow neighbors. Morse boasts one of the best elementary schools in the state. The parish’s regional airport, LeGros Memorial Airport, is located just outside of Estherwood. Mermentau is home to Acadia Parish’s only river, the Mermentau River, where fishing and recreation are coupled with a working industrial area. Large ships, barges and casinos which are to be docked along neighboring shores are fabricated on the Mermentau.
