Recreation in Ascension
Jambalaya Park
One of the newest recreational parks here in Gonzales that features a beautiful set of fountains as the main centerpiece. The Jambalaya Park is also the site of the ever-popular “sprayground” where children can cool off and play during our warm summer months. The Jambalaya Park’s other amenities include: an amphitheatre, reflecting pond, Olympic-size swimming pool, “riverwalk,” fishing pier and a shaded picnic area. The park is located behind City Hall at 120 South Irma Boulevard, Gonzales and is opened to the public daily.
For a more casual form of entertainment, a wide selection can be found in our neighboring communities, from major sporting events, cinemas, skating, bowling or river boat gambling.

Pelican Point Golf Club

Features two 18-hole golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pool, clubhouse, driving range, pro-shop and full dine-in restaurant. The Links Course is a semi-private, British-style golf course with Louisiana flair. The Lakes course is newly renovated with beautiful Championship Bermuda greens.
