On behalf of myself, and the Gonzales City Council, we wish to welcome you to the City of Gonzales and Ascension Parish.

We are located between Baton Rouge and New Orleans in the corridor of history and aesthetic beauty.
Gonzales is known as the “Jambalaya Capital of the World.” Jambalaya is a mixture of different meats, spices and rice, and is an old recipe from our forefathers that is enjoyed by our local residents as well as our visitors.
