Welcome from the Chamber
On behalf of the more than 112,000 residents and over 900 chamber members, it is my pleasure to bring greetings to you and offer a few insights into what many of us know as the best place to work, live and play. Newcomers are drawn to Bossier Parish and the surrounding area for the same reasons that life-long residents and military retirees choose to stay.
Our combination of unique culture brings together rich Louisiana heritage with big Texas lifestyle and God’s country of Arkansas – the area is known as the Ark-La-Tex.
Since the early 1950s, Bossier Parish has been one of the fastest-growing parishes in the state of Louisiana. We are home to Barksdale Air Force Base – headquarters for the AF Global Strike Command, the “Mighty” Eighth Air Force and the 2nd and 307th Bomb Wings. BAFB adds strength and stability to the economy through its active duty and reserve personnel, their families and a large and growing retiree base. In the fall of 2011, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce and the Bossier Parish Community was recognized as a Top 20 Military Friendly Chamber by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association.
Ranking fourth in the nation (Business Facilities magazine-2010) in the motion picture industry, the Bossier-Shreveport area is one of the hottest places in the nation for film production. In Bossier-Shreveport you’ll see stars day and night. Our beautiful, fun and exciting city is home to many of America’s best-loved stars of music, theater and the big screen.
