Part of St. Landry Parish, Eunice is situated in south-central Louisiana and is convenient to major transportation routes and services. Louisiana Highway 13 runs north and south of the town while U.S. Highway 190 runs east and west. Nearby U.S. Interstate 49 and Louisiana Highway 10 are both within close proximity to Eunice and provide easy access to other thoroughfares and cities.
Eunice is within driving distance of several major cities. It is only about 40 miles northwest of Lafayette and approximately 90 miles west of Baton Rouge. New Orleans is 170 miles to the southeast, and Houston, Texas, is 200 miles west down Louisiana Highway 10.
Air travel is also easy to come by. Eunice Municipal Airport is just over two miles south of Eunice and provides a 5,000-foot by 75-foot runway, pilot-controlled lighting and fuel services. St. Landry Parish Airport offers a 6,000-foot north/south runway and a 4,000-foot crosswind runway, providing access for most general aviation and business aircraft. Lafayette Regional Airport is home to commercial carriers Delta, Continental Express and Northwest as well as numerous car rental agencies.
Freight rail service is provided by Union Pacific Railroad, and bus travel is available via Acadiana Transit. Fixed routes along with charter/shuttle services, para-transit and night owl services are offered.
