As stated on its website, for over two decades, Acadia Vermilion Hospital has provided comprehensive care to adult patients in the Lafayette area suffering from mental illness and chemical dependency. This hospital is the region’s largest facility for hospital-based behavior health services – and with 54 beds, they have the means to provide the finest care to the entire area.
Heart Hospital of Lafayette
Heart Hospital of Lafayette is an entire hospital focused on heart disease – specially designed, equipped and staffed to keep the heart healthy and treat it when it's not. They have a Heart Emergency Center that stands prepared around-the-clock. Heart Hospital is an angioplasty center, which is important to know in the event of a heart-related emergency.
Lafayette General Medical Center
Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) evolved from a six-bed facility that opened in 1911 to a 301-bed facility that is the largest full-service, acute-care medical center in the eight-parish area of Acadiana. As a community-owned and managed hospital, all decisions are made locally by an experienced administrative team and a volunteer Membership Corporation and Board of Trustee.
Lafayette General Surgical Hospital
Lafayette General Surgical Hospital (LGSH) is a short-stay surgical hospital and medical office building in the Lafayette area. It is a joint venture between Lafayette General Medical Center and a group of local surgeons. LGSH patients can rest assured that they will be provided some of the best surgeons, over 100 years of nursing experience and the backup of an acute medical center on the same campus. Patients and their families are given courteous, personalized attention with surgical care of the highest quality.
Lafayette Physical Rehabilitation Hospital LLC
Built in 2006, Lafayette Physical Rehabilitation Hospital is a 26,000-square-foot, multi-specialty, physician-owned rehabilitation hospital that caters to the needs of patients with severe injuries or conditions. The facility provides a variety of rehabilitative services and treatments including physical and occupational therapy, speech pathology and psychology.
Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital
Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital (LSSH) is a 20-bed, patient-focused and physician-directed hospital specializing in orthopedic; neurological; ear, nose and throat; urological; gynecological; plastics and general surgical procedures; and pain management. Eight operating rooms and two procedure rooms accommodate 8,000 cases annually. Their patient satisfaction ratings are outstanding, consistently reaching 98 percent and higher. Because it is a physician-owned hospital, the doctors have much more direct involvement with every aspect of care that is provided. Kindred Hospital Lafayette
Kindred Hospital is a 50-bed Long-Term Acute Care Hospital offering specialized acute care for medically complex patients. Kindred Hospital serves the needs of patients who are chronically ill, suffering from cardiac, neurological or pulmonary conditions, as well as neuropathy, arthritis, chronic pain and wound care conditions.
Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center
Our Lady of Lourdes is a newly constructed, 192-bed hospital located in Lafayette. Lourdes is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System, which is the largest locally owned, not-for-profit health system in Louisiana. Lourdes employs more than 1,200 people, in addition to offering a staff of over 400 active physicians in a variety of medical and surgical specialties. Encompassing 45 acres and an investment of $211 million, this new medical center is the largest building project in the history of Lafayette.
Park Place Surgical Hospital
According to their website, the vision of a handful of Acadiana physicians became a realization when Park Place Surgical Hospital began operations as an Ambulatory Surgery Center on March 18, 1999. The success of this physician-owned facility is due to its quality of care and convenience for both patients and physicians. Beyond the capability of providing more of the same outpatient services that are in demand, Park Place offers the community access to elective inpatient services that previously were only provided by Lafayette’s community hospitals.
Surgery Center Inc.
As stated on their website, Surgery Center is Louisiana's first licensed, outpatient facility and the 18th facility of its kind nationwide to open its doors on January 19, 1976, in Lafayette. Surgery Center strives to eliminate, as much as possible, a typical hospital environment, and its staff attempts to create a relaxed, but professional, atmosphere. Surgery Center is staffed with an anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetists, nursing staff, business office and an administrator.
The Regional Medical Center of Acadiana
The creation of the health system was announced in March 2009, and consolidates Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Southwest Medical Center under one name: the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana. Among the services offered: cardiovascular, bariatric surgery, emergency services, hemodialysis, laser surgery, orthopedic services, outpatient surgery, rehabilitation services, radiology and special care units.
