On behalf of the Vermilion Parish Tourist Commission and the residents of Vermilion Parish, I would like to welcome you to “the most Cajun place on earth.” Tourism is big business in Louisiana and hospitality is an area that we specialize in. Wherever your travels take you in Vermilion Parish, you’ll encounter friendly people who are happy to help you find what you are looking for and make you feel at home.

Your journey through Vermilion Parish will take you through the heart of Cajun country where you’ll encounter historical attractions, as well as an abundance of hidden treasures and deep-rooted culture. Nestled in our peaceful towns, you’ll find authentic Cajun cuisine, unique shops, family-friendly festivals, true Southern hospitality and more—all perfectly seasoned with a dash of Cajun excitement!

As you travel our scenic back roads, you’ll discover lazy bayous, picturesque farms and marshlands teeming with wildlife. Vermilion Parish is located on the America’s WETLAND Birding Trail and you’ll find some of the best birding in America along our coast. See fields where sugarcane, rice, crawfish and cattle are farmed. You might be able to catch an alligator sunning himself along Highway 82. Be sure to bring your camera and binoculars so you don’t miss out on anything.
