Welcome to Vermilion Parish!

As Police Jury President, and on behalf of the Vermilion Parish Police Jury, we are pleased to be part of this informational directory.
Vermilion Parish has been referred to as “the most Cajun place on Earth,” a title we are proud of. Our agriculture and aquaculture, where rice, sugarcane, cattle, crawfish and alligators are found, are second to none. Vermilion Parish has all of the resources available to support a sound economic system. We have railways, waterways and airways, which will help promote our businesses and industries.
Vermilion Parish has experienced several hurricanes in the past four years, whose surges have devastated part of our Parish. The citizens of Vermilion Parish have given us a great responsibility and a sacred trust. We are committed to working with local, state and federal governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations to protect life and property and to fully support all hurricane and coastal protection measures, which protect our way of life.
Thank you!
