Wellness Weekend & Mary’s Walk
Commenced in 1999, Mary’s Walk has evolved into a much-anticipated annual event to raise money for cancer research in Maine. The walk follows an USATF certified course (4 miles). Runners and walkers are welcome.
Saco Spirit and several other non-profits focused on health and wellness display and offer materials about their organizations and how to better take care for your physical and mental health. This is planned in conjunction with Mary’s Walk, because the event is focused on raising funds for cancer.

Maine Maple Weekend
(4th Weekend in March)
Harris Farm - 280 Buzzell Road, Dayton
All-you-can-eat homemade pancake breakfast featuring homemade pancakes, sausage, bacon, our own maple syrup and homemade butter, Harris Farm milk, and juice. Sugar house open for demonstrations and samples, and dairy barn open for viewing. Farm store open during Maple Weekend and every day with glass-bottled milk and all-natural beef. Tour De Cure

Saco Sidewalk Festival

Main Street, Saco, Maine
This festival is an annual cultural extravaganza occurring in June a long the quaint and beautiful Main Street in Saco. The event is a combination of visual arts, performing arts, crafts people and sculptors. Mediums include paintings in oil, acrylics, watercolors, pen and ink, prints, etchings, photography, paper casting and innovative sculptures. There are wonderful displays from members of the Southern Maine Craftsmen. The performing arts include magicians, cloggers and musicians. There are concession stands, clowns and balloons for the kids, and a special time for all! The show attracts many quality artists.
Hundreds of artists nationwide come to Saco’s beautiful downtown to showcase their talents by displaying various pieces of artwork. It is scheduled each year for the last Saturday in June.

La Kermesse Franco-Americaine Festival
(Last Weekend in June)
Downtown Main Street & Waterhouse Field, West Street in Biddeford
Four-day family festival. Begins on Thursday with opening ceremonies, which include a Block Party followed by an evening fireworks display. Friday features a parade from downtown to Waterhouse Field, West Street. Features include midway shows, musical entertainment, dining tent, children’s tent, outdoor stage, and outdoor field events.

Sounds of Saco Spirit Concert Series
This series is free to the public in an endeavor to expose the community to culture in the form of music and to promote downtown shopping. Local performers put on an outdoor concert every Thursday evening through July and August, where a wide variety of talent is displayed from country to rock to children’s music. This event is a favorite for individuals of all ages.

Ocean Park Association Summer Schedule
Since 1881, Ocean Park has provided a respite by the sea where individual growth and family enrichment are promoted through a mix of religious, educational, cultural and recreational opportunities. Listen to a guest speaker at the interdenominational Sunday morning worship services in the Temple, enjoy a discussion on world religions as part of the Ocean Park Forum, attend a Sunday night concert, meet some new friends at the Monday Night Welcome Cook-Out, or send the youth to adventure or dance camp - these are just a few of our offerings. Greek Heritage Festival

Shriner’s Lobster Bowl
Waterhouse Field - West Street, Biddeford, Maine
Kora Temple sponsors the Annual Maine Shrine Lobster Classic All-Star high school football game. Every year 88 student athletes and 18 coaches volunteer their time and talents in support of helping to improve the lives of physically challenged children. This game will be played for the benefit of Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
Jazz Festival
Planned to work with the Sounds of Saco Spirit, the Jazz Festival formed to focus solely on jazz music in order to expose the community to a different genre of musical talent and performers. Performers range in musical expression in order to offer a variety for all to enjoy. The festival is held in Pepperell Park where individuals can sit back, relax and enjoy great food and fabulous sounds. The event is used as a fundraiser to help support the beautification projects planned by Saco Spirit to take place throughout the year. Scheduled each year for the last Saturday in July from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
Farm Day - Lunch On The Land
(4th Sunday in July)

Hayrides will run continuously to the back meadow where a buffet picnic lunch featuring farm fresh foods, such as our own hamburgers, corn and milk, as well as homemade salads and desserts, will be offered. The dairy barn will be opened for viewing, and guided hayride tours of the farm will be available. Featuring farm fresh products/homemade desserts. Saco Bay Race Weekend
Downtown, Saco
Bring your family and friends to join in the festivities. Featuring Masters (55 & older), Kid’s Race, and the Pro’s Race. Sanctioned by the U.S. Cycling Federation, the Saco Bay Criterium is organized by the Southern Maine Cycling Club. Profits from the races go back to our community. Races are held rain or shine.
Annual Business Expo

The Biddeford-Saco Chamber of Commerce hosts a Business Expo, showcasing area businesses. General public is invited to visit, learn about local businesses, meet or connect with representatives from the showcased businesses, do some networking, and just enjoy the displays and samples offered. SEPTEMBER
Chalk On The Walk Festival
Annual event, usually the end of September. Spectators, artists and children flock to Biddeford’s downtown to see artists’ cement-inspired masterpieces. Local businesses sponsor individual blocks of sidewalk and let the artists get to work over the course of the day. Spectators can sample food offered by local restaurateurs as children and adults make the sidewalks come to life with their amazing and colorful drawings. Bands play their unique melodies. October Pumpkin Fest

Something Spook-Tacular is happening in Downtown Saco...
Have you ever seen hundreds of jack-o’-lanterns all grinning at once? Come to the Pumpkin Fest and that is exactly what you’ll see! Hundreds of carved pumpkins will be on display for everyone to view and enjoy. There will also be all kinds of activities for kids “of all ages,” including a Costume Parade down Main Street. Everyone is welcome, and, of course, don’t forget to bring your own carved pumpkin to add to the pumpkin patch! You may take your pumpkins home with you at the end of the evening.
A fall favorite for all to enjoy - from infants to senior citizens. This event is great for families, couples, children, neighborhoods, civic organizations, schools, businesses and many more to come together and join the various communities that grace Main Street Saco with their carved pumpkins. The street is all aglow at dusk with the thousands of carved pumpkins that line the downtown. School children from Saco and Biddeford share in this community favorite by each classroom carving their best ghoulish or happy face on over 1,000 pumpkins donating by local farmers. Several activities are made available to appeal to any age, including afternoon concerts, trick-or-treating, hay bale hunt, hay wagon rides and much, much more.
DECEMBER
HolidayFest
(early December)
Main Streets of Saco and Biddeford. Each city features special events along their Main Streets. Music, Santa, tree decorating and lighting, horse-drawn carriage rides, and much more.
This weekend focuses on promoting downtown shopping during the holidays and experiencing good old-fashioned customer service the way only Main Street merchants can provide. Main Street offers the look and feel of a cozy community, with a wide variety of specialty shops available for gifts and clothing, as well as intimate restaurants for dining. Enjoy caroling, late night shopping, pictures with Santa, wagon rides, downtown historical tours and much more. Take your time looking through Saco’s and Biddeford’s quaint shops and bring back the memories of when you were young with the twinkling lights, hot chocolate and friendly smiles.
