Community Introduction

The communities of Biddeford and Saco are unique and one of the most scenic in New England. It is an area twice blessed by 10 miles of riverfront and another 10 miles of ocean shoreline.

The gentle, rolling terrain of Biddeford-Saco meets the Atlantic Ocean at several exquisite beach communities. The Saco River is one of the cleanest in the Northeast, providing an endless variety of recreational opportunities.

Enormous red-brick mill buildings in both cities hold the stories of many early immigrants who came to the area to work. The architecture of the Main Streets reflect almost every period of change and development in the cities’ histories. These old mill buildings are experiencing a revitalization with development of new housing and business space.
