Sanford-Springvale Government
Sanford government is typical New England, featuring a Town Meeting that meets in May. The Town Manager oversees all town departments.
Sanford has a full-time professional Police Department and a full-time Fire and Rescue Department. The area is served by three fire stations with locations in Springvale Square, one close to downtown Sanford and another adjacent to the Sanford Regional Airport and the Business and Industrial Parks. Town Hall is the home to the following departments: Administration, Assessing, Codes Enforcement Office, General Assistance, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Treasurer, Planning Department, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Personnel, Voter Registration, Economic Development and Information Systems.
