Sanford-Springvale Education
The Sanford School Department has four elementary schools, a middle school, a junior high school, a high school and a regional vocational center. St. Thomas, a private school, serves grades Kindergarten through six.
The Sanford Community Adult Education program offers numerous courses, both day and evening, such as GED/diploma classes, classes to improve skills and a number of enrichment classes. There is something for everyone no matter the age.
The University College of Sanford is located on the Nasson Commons in Springvale. This is the home of the York County Senior College, with classes held on the Sanford and Saco Campuses. The Seacoast Career School is located in South Sanford in the Business and Industrial area.
Less than an hour’s commute from Sanford is the University of Southern Maine in Portland; the University of New England in Biddeford; York County Community College in Wells, and the University of New Hampshire, in Durham, NH.
