Welcome to Wells!

On behalf of the Wells Chamber of Commerce, I invite you to visit beautiful and historic Wells, located on Maine’s southern Atlantic coast.

Wells is one of the finest family vacation spots anywhere. We are fortunate to be blessed with seven miles of sparkling sandy beaches and numerous areas of natural splendor, which attract people from all over the world to the area in the spring, summer, winter, and fall. The Rachel Carson Nature Trails at the nationally recognized Estuarine Reserve at Laudholm Farm offer miles of paths for hiking, skiing, and strolling. Numerous craft fairs, local events, and outdoor concerts at harbor Park’s Hope Hobbs Gazebo are available and open to the public. Many fine antique shops, used and collectible book stores, and outlets are open throughout the year to complement a scenic drive along the coast or a day of cross-country skiing.

Our trolley system connects accommodations with beaches, restaurants and nearby Ogunquit. Take a nostalgic ride on our own charming trolleys, Katie, Kelly and Kerry, that will be carrying passengers for their fifth year.

Please take the opportunity to read through this guide and visit our Welcome/Information Center (located on Route 1 South at the Moody Beach light) to assist you in finding the finest lodging, restaurants, recreation, shopping and services available in our area.

In closing, we as a Chamber work very hard to provide complete tourism and area business information through this guide, our trolley system and Information Center, to assist you in making your stay in Wells enjoyable and memorable.

We sincerely welcome you to our community.

Sincerely,

Brian D. Harrington, President
Wells Chamber of Commerce
