GOVERNMENT
The
cities of Otsego and Plainwell are City-Council/Manager form. In Plainwell,
all five city council seats are voted on every two years, and the person
receiving the most votes is designated mayor. In Otsego, voting on the
city commission seats is staggered, so that all five seats are never voted
on at the same time, and the commission appoints the mayor. Both cities
have police departments and fire departments. The Otsego City Council
meets on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 P.M. The Plainwell
City Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at 7:00
