Covering a 66-mile district, Rochester Community Schools provides quality education to 14,500-plus students within 13 elementary schools (K - 5), four middle schools (6 - 8) and five high schools (9 - 12). On top of the comprehensive kindergarten through 12th grade public education, the district offers a preschool curriculum that is developmentally based and planned to coordinate with the Rochester Community Schools Kindergarten Program. The district’s Enrichment Program provides a number of opportunities for lifelong learning, such as adult fitness, computer classes, arts, financial and legal classes, languages, dance, leisure learning and aquatics.

A percentage of students attend Avondale Schools, a 3,800- student district serving four of the county’s fastest growing communities—Auburn Hills, Rochester Hills, Troy and Bloomfield Township. A nationally recognized university, Oakland University provides 133 undergraduate and 117 graduate degree programs to nearly 19,000 students. Sixteen Division I athletics teams, more than 170 student organizations and an array of cultural attractions, such as Meadow Brook Hall, the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, and the OU Art Gallery are all situated within the beautiful 1,441-acre campus. The Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine will begin offering instruction in August 2011 to prepare future physicians.

For those who prefer a smaller learning environment, Rochester College is the perfect place to be. The four-year liberal arts college currently enrolls around 1,000 students—and growing—who are afforded opportunities for obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees, along with an adult degree completion program. In the last few years, the college has made many updates in order to accommodate its growing student population, including a new modern library and a $4.5 million, multi-purpose academic center.

Nestled on 170 acres in the center of Oakland County’s Automation Alley, and next door to the Oakland Technology Park and the Chrysler World Headquarters, Oakland Community College’s Auburn Campus hails as one of the largest community colleges in the nation.
