We are home to more than 70,000 people along the shores of Lake Michigan. Strategically located along Interstate 94, we are just 90 miles from both Chicago and Grand Rapids, and share an incredible bounty comprised of the largest non-citrus fruit growing region in the nation, rolling vineyards, wide sandy beaches, sprawling dunes and more.

We are also home to the principal industrial and commercial center for the southwestern corner of the state. Agriculture, manufacturing and tourism all contribute greatly to the stability and economic growth of the area.

Residents enjoy the variety of a four-season climate. Westerly winds create a "lake effect," tempering the region’s seasonal temperature fluctuations.

With 42 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and more than 4300 acres of parks, we have been successful in attracting many national and regional sporting tournaments.
