Community Introduction

Located just west of the Twin Cities is the lovely town of Buffalo, Minnesota, home to 15,500 residents, beautiful lakes and a friendly business atmosphere. While Buffalo feels like a small community, it has a large and vibrant business community, many churches, a modern hospital and health clinics and a vital school system.

In addition to serving as the seat of Wright County, Buffalo is hailed as a hub of local shopping. Not only are there many retail businesses and specialty shops, there also are prominent entities such as Wal-Mart, Target and Menards, which all call Buffalo home. Buffalo is known for its abundance of antique, vintage and specialty stores, offering a shopping experience like no other. The “occasional sales weekends” feature shops that are open only one weekend of each month beginning on the first Thursday of each month. Buffalo is bustling on these weekends with visitors from near and far.

Residents and visitors enjoy good fishing and many water sports on Lake Pulaski and Buffalo Lake. In addition to the beautiful recreational lakes, Buffalo boasts 26 regional and neighborhood parks to enjoy. During summer months, a weekly concert in the park program, sponsored by businesses, is offered free to hundreds of people at the Sturges Park Bandshell along the shores of Buffalo Lake. In the winter months, fish house villages cover the lakes while skaters enjoy ice skating and neighborhood hockey rinks. Many people enjoy the 25 miles of trails that connect our parks and allow recreational opportunities year-round. The Parkshore Pavilion, located downtown on Buffalo Lake, provides canoe, fishing boat, paddle boat and pontoon rentals and concessions during the summer. Ice skate rentals are available at the Pavilion during the winter. The Buffalo Community Center offers adults in Buffalo a place to share experiences and relationships while remaining active in the community. Although many participants are over 50 years of age, some of the activities will appeal to people of all ages. The Community Center provides area adults a place to learn, share, dine and participate in daily, weekly and monthly planned activities.

Buffalo also has its own wireless Internet services known as QuantumCONNECT. It offers high-speed services, low rates and an Internet service center right here in the City of Buffalo. With QuantumCONNECT Internet service, you may access the Internet from anywhere in the community. The Wi-Fi Internet service is portable around Buffalo.
