Outdoor Adventures Galore

Numerous lakes and rivers provide opportunities galore for outdoor adventure. Everything from fishing (including bank, sport and ice fishing) to water sports (like jet skiing, canoeing and swimming) can be experienced in the Chisago Lakes Area.

Marinas and boat rentals are available on South Center and South Lindstrom Lakes. Great fishing can be had on more than 10 different lakes and hunting and trapping is allowed in designated areas along the St. Croix River.

Scenic hiking can also be experienced via the Swedish Immigrant Trail, which was the route the early immigrants used when establishing their farms and towns. Plans are in development to enhance the entire trail system and ultimately link the communities of Taylors Falls, Shafer, Center City, Lindstrom, Chisago City and Wyoming.

Further attractions of the Chisago Lakes Area include bird watching, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and camping. In 2006, the Chisago Lakes Area will host a Triathlon at Paradise Park in Chisago City, with scenic bike and running courses.
