The Forest Lake Area is spread over parts of Washington, Anoka and Chisago counties, and is located 25 miles north of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul on Interstate 35.

I-35 splits into I-35E and I-35W just south of Forest Lake, allowing easy access to both Minneapolis and St. Paul. An extensive network of U.S. and state highways serves the metro area.
