A quick glance at the Forest Lake Area Calendar of Events shows that there’s always something to see and do here. You can check out one of the state’s oldest and largest Fourth of July celebrations, which includes a carnival, bingo tent, street vendors, a huge parade, spectacular fireworks and more. Sponsored since 1924 by American Legion Post 225, the extravaganza lasts several days! The action doesn’t stop there, however. We’ve still got the Farmers’ Market, Arts in the Park, Taco Daze, Linwood Family Fun Day, Hay Day Races, the Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, an Ice Fishing Contest, Casino Night and Columbus Fest, to name just a few. Visitors can also take in one of the local historical sites or watch an auction. One of the newest attractions to find its way to the Forest Lake area is Running Aces Harness Park, which is located right off of I-35 in Columbus. Come out to see a harness race, grab a bite to eat or to play cards in the card room. This family-oriented facility opened in April 2008. In Wyoming you will find Stars & Strikes Family Entertainment Center, which offers bowling, food, entertainment, laser tag, an arcade and much more.
