For outdoor enthusiasts, the Forest Lake area has many beautiful lakes and parks to enjoy. Picnic tables, tennis and volleyball courts, and baseball diamonds are available, along with many playgrounds for community use. The Forest Lake Area Athletic Association provides both traveling and in-house sports for Forest Lake area youth since 1950 and is constructing a Sports Complex to include one-year round sheet of ice, due to open in the fall of 2008. The Sports Complex will be located in Fenway Park, which is also home to new ball diamonds and football and soccer fields.

This beautiful area of Minnesota offers unlimited opportunities for swimming, fishing, hiking, boating, ice hockey and golf. Choose from a private 18-hole or several area public nine- and 18-hole courses. The 23,000-acre Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area is also nearby and is home to the Wildlife Science Center. The Wildlife Science Center houses wolves, bears, lynx and raptors; provides educational tours; and is greatly involved in the Forest Lake area community.
