largest employers in the MetroNorth area are Mercy/Unity Medical Centers,
Medtronic, Anoka County, United Defense, Onan Corporation, Anoka Hennepin
School District 11, Federal Cartridge, Hoffman Engineering, IMI Cornelius,
Honeywell, Target, Minco Products, Coon Rapids Medical Center, and Aveda.
Manufacturing is the biggest contributor to Anoka County's economy, followed
by retail trade, wholesale trade, health care, accommodation & food
services, administration & support, professional, & technical
services, and real estate sales & rental.

The Anoka County Development Partnership (763-786-0869) has been helping
develop new high-tech companies since 1985. The partners include the County,
banks, utilities, private investors, and other organizations.
Some of the Partnership's financing is handled through the Anoka Sherburne
County Capital Fund (763-786-0869). Another partner is Genesis Business
Centers (763-782-8576), a business incubator.
Central Minnesota Development Corporation (763-784-3387) also helps young
companies expand and build as well as to make use of available SBA and
TIF programs.
