Medical Care
Minnesota has built a reputation for quality healthcare that is known worldwide. As the home of the Mayo Clinic, United Healthcare (a leader in managed care), Allina Hospitals and Clinics, and one of the leading research facilities at the University of Minnesota, this reputation is well deserved.
Richfield too has a wide variety of healthcare facilities to serve its citizens.
Allina Medical Clinic-Woodlake, a comprehensive primary-care facility, is located at 66th Street and Lyndale Avenue. Clinics for kidney dialysis, foot and ankle specialists, chiropractic facilities and home medical supplies can be found in this same area. Richfield Medical Group physicians are located on Nicollet Avenue at the Hub Shopping Center. Richfield Health Center, a long-term care facility, is located on Portland Avenue and Interstate 494.
Full hospital facilities are readily available at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, a few short blocks outside of Richfield’s border. A recently completed addition to the hospital includes a new surgery wing and Heart and Vascular center.
Other well-known names in healthcare located only minutes away in Minneapolis include Abbot Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis Heart Institute, Sister Kenny Institute and the Piper Eye Care Institute.
Dental Care
Richfield is fortunate to have many dental care offices located throughout the city. These offices include Crosstown Dental, Dental Health Care Center, Ehlers-Keller Family Dentistry, Dr. Jay Clark and Metro Dental, just to name a few.
Richfield also is the home of Metro Dentalcare, a proud member of the Richfield community since 1968. Metro Dentalcare was established by Dr. David Milbrath. Dr. Milbrath founded his first clinic, located at 7400 Lyndale, with a few former University of Minnesota School of Dentistry classmates. In the mid-1970s, Dr. Marcus Gustafson joined Dr. Milbrath in building a group practice focused on simplicity and convenience for all patients. The company moved its Richfield clinic and administrative office to the Woodlake Centre at 6601 Lyndale in 2000.
Today, Metro Dentalcare offers 29 dental and four orthodontic clinics throughout the Twin Cities. Metro Dentalcare features a complete range of patient-focused routine dentistry and a network of specialties including cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics (gum disease), endodontics (root canals) and pediatric dentistry.
Each clinic features a team of professionally trained and experienced dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and staff professionals to ensure Metro Dentalcare patients receive superior care, focused on the individual needs of each patient. Patients can choose clinics close to home or work with the added convenience of extended morning, evening and Saturday appointments at most clinics. Ultimately, results are what matter. Metro Dentalcare patient satisfaction scores consistently rank above the national and Twin Cities averages.*
Metro Dentalcare has more than 640 employees, including more than 90 dentists treating over 140,000 patients in the Twin Cities. For more information on Metro Dentalcare, please visit www.metro-dentalcare.com.
