Minnesota has built a reputation for quality healthcare that is known worldwide. As the home of the Mayo Clinic, United Healthcare (a leader in managed care) and Allina Hospitals and Clinics, and one of the leading research facilities at the University of Minnesota, this reputation is well deserved.
Richfield too, has a wide variety of healthcare facilities to serve its citizens. Allina Medical Clinic-Woodlake, a comprehensive primary care facility, located at 66th Street and Lyndale Avenue, has recently invested in a major remodeling of the Richfield facility. Clinics for kidney dialysis, foot and ankle specialists, chiropractic facilities and home medical supplies can be found in this same area. At the Hub Shopping Center, Richfield Medical Group physicians located on Nicollet Avenue, has undergone extensive remodeling to better serve its clients. Richfield Health Center, located on Portland Avenue and Interstate 494, operates a long-term care facility with primary emphasis on Alzheimer’s care.
Full hospital facilities are readily available at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina, a few short blocks outside of Richfield’s border. A recently completed addition to the hospital includes a new surgery wing and Heart and Vascular center.
Other care facilities, Abbot Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis Heart Institute, Sister Kenny Institute, Piper Eye Care Institute — some of the most well known names in healthcare — are just minutes away in Minneapolis.
Richfield is fortunate to have many dental care offices located throughout the city including Crosstown Dental, Dental Health Care Center, Ehlers-Keller Family Dentistry and Dr. Jay Clark, to name a few.
Richfield also is the home of Metro Dentalcare, a proud member of the Richfield community since 1968 when Dr. David Milbrath founded his first clinic located at 7400 Lyndale with a few former University of Minnesota School of Dentistry classmates. In the mid-1970s, Dr. Milbrath was joined by Dr. Marcus Gustafson, and together they built a group practice focused on simplicity and convenience for all patients. The company moved its Richfield clinic and administrative office to the Woodlake Centre at 6601 Lyndale in 2000. Today, Metro Dentalcare offers 29 dental and four orthodontic clinics throughout the Twin Cities.
