Fourth
of July is a time to celebrate the birth of our nation and the bonds of
our communities. White Bear Lake comes together as a community for its
annual Independence Day fireworks display, which is attended annually
by over 10,000 people. Sponsored primarily by Saturn of St. Paul, the
spectacular show is also made possible by the combined contributions of
the City of White Bear Lake, the VFW, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club
and other service organizations as well as by the donations of area residents.
As dusk descends, families and friends gather to enjoy a patriotic concert
performed by the Shoreview Northern Lights Community Band. Blankets dot
the lawn and lights twinkle from the lake as boats launch to earn a perfect
view of the night sky and the breathtaking fireworks display that brings
the evening to a colorful close.
