Thousands of acres of open-to-the-public parkland and numerous beaches and golf courses provide area residents with a myriad of outdoor settings to choose from, while city and township parks offer everything from playgrounds and skating rinks to hiking trails and boat launches.

Golfers can play their favorite sport on any number of both public and private courses in the area. Within a 10-mile radius of the City of White Bear Lake, public golf courses include Gem Lake Hills, Manitou Ridge, Oneka Ridge, Tannersbrook, and Sawmill Golf Club. Many of these clubs host leagues and private tournaments. Lavish private golf courses with restaurant facilities include Dellwood Hills Golf Club, North Oaks Golf Club and White Bear Yacht Club.
