
COUNTRY CLUBS
The clubs in the Madison area offer golf, tennis, swimming and fine dining. The Annandale Country Club, with its Jack Nicklaus-designed course, is host to the annual PGA Tour-sanctioned Viking Classic. Other clubs include Whisper Lake Country Club, Reunion Golf and Country Club and Lake Caroline Golf Club.
SHOPPING
The Old Madison Station District, once the center of railroad activity in Madison, is now home to numerous shops and galleries. You’ll find this area perfect for browsing and buying.
The Dallas Market Center, the world’s largest wholesale merchandising resource, and the Accessories Resource Team recently presented Persnickety the Rising Star Award, the highest honor in the U.S. in the field of decorative accessories at the 16th Annual ARTS Gala in Dallas, Texas.

Southern Living Magazine recently featured Madison’s shopping area: “…instead of repetitive chain stores taking over, this community features a handful of boutiques, galleries and restaurants that are drawing a lot of attention—and visitors—up I-55.”
Among the wonderful examples of shopping, the article included its Chamber member, The Inside Story: “If you can’t find it here, you don’t need it. Spread over two floors in a small, Victorian house, this accessory and gift emporium carries everything from purses, necklaces and shoes to Christmas ornaments, ceramic monkeys, candles and decorative pillows. RESERVOIR AND PARKS
The 33,000-acre Ross Barnett Reservoir, just east of the city, is perfect for fishing, sailing, boating, water skiing, picnicking, camping and walking its trails. There are 40 parks and recreational areas within the Reservoir area. Strawberry Patch Park is a seven-acre neighborhood park inside the city of Madison that combines walking trails with exercise stations, playground equipment and picnic areas, all surrounding a serene lake. Simmons Arboretum, also inside Madison, features a wonderful walking tour through a variety of Mississippi’s plants, trees and shrubs. The historic Natchez Trace Parkway is a scenic highway with picnic sites, historic markers and nature trails.LIBERTY PARK
This multi-purpose sports complex offers five lighted baseball/softball fields, five regulation soccer fields (two of which are lighted and can be subdivided as needed), five lighted batting cages, eight unlighted batting cages, two beach volleyball courts, a paved walking track and a cross-country track under construction.
LIBERTY VILLAGE PLAYGROUND
A wonderful playground designed from the imaginations of Madison children, it offers an oasis of fun for children of all ages! This playground is also located at Liberty Park.
YOUTH RECREATIONAL SERVICES AND PROGRAMS
A wide variety of sports are available to children and youth in baseball, softball, basketball and soccer.

MADISON SQUARE CENTER FOR THE ARTS
The Madison Square Center for the Arts is situated in the heart of Madison on Main Street. It provides classes in all the cultural arts including art, dance, music and drama. The Arts Center is home to Ballet Mississippi, the Madison Center Players theatre group, the Richard Allen drama group, and numerous artists and musicians. THE REBECCA BAINE RIGBY LIBRARY
Madison’s hometown library, a part of the Madison County Library System, has an extensive collection of fiction and nonfiction books. It features downloadable audiobooks, online databases, CDs, DVDs, public computers with Internet access and a wireless network for users with laptops. The library can access additional materials for your research or reading pleasure through an interlibrary loan service.
