As the Director of Community Development for the city of Madison, I am proud to be a part of the growth and development of a city whose quality of life is second to none.
Madison is one of the South’s best examples of what a commitment to excellence can mean for the progress, growth and future of a city. By developing and enforcing strict ordinances, Madison has encouraged responsible growth by carefully managing site planning, building design, planting and signage. This puts Madison in a unique position to protect your valuable investment by keeping property values high. As a result, the city continues to attract local, national and international businesses committed to maintaining a hometown feel.
If you are considering the development of a residential or commercial project in Madison, we welcome your interest. I would encourage you to contact my office to discuss your needs right from the beginning. We are committed to making your project a success.
Whether your interest is in the development of a subdivision, the construction of a retail business or office building, you will find in Madison an atmosphere that encourages responsible development long-term.
For information on developing a residential or commercial subdivision, please obtain a copy of the city’s Subdivision Regulations and Stormwater Management Ordinance at either the Public Works Department or online at www.madisonthecity.com/publicworks.
For construction of an office or retail business, copies of the city’s zoning, landscape and signage ordinances are available at the Madison Department of Community Development. These documents will detail the basic information you need to get started.
It may also be helpful for you to arrange an appointment to meet with me as you begin your process.
I look forward to working with you. Please contact me at (601) 856-7116 or ahoops@MadisonTheCity.com
