The Brentwood Parks and Recreation organization hosts a wide variety of events. Residents can take day trips along with many other residents to a casino or even a ranch.
There are seven parks located throughout the city. Of the seven parks, Memorial Park is the largest, spanning over 15 acres of beautiful land for residents and visitors to enjoy. The park includes pavilions, playgrounds, hiking trails, fitness stations, and an in-line skating rink.
Brentwood also has an ice skating rink for everyone in the family to enjoy. Skaters can practice their skills on the open rink, or learn some new skills by taking some lessons.
Brentwood Parks and Recreation has a mutual agreement with the same department of neighboring Maplewood and Richmond Heights. The program is called PARC and allows residents of all three communities to take advantage of all the recreation facilities in each town. This provides Brentwood residents with additional exercise rooms, indoor swimming and indoor basketball, as well as an outdoor aquatic center with a lap pool.
The recently refurbished Brentwood Library opened to the public with a mere 85 cents in its treasury in 1938. In 1952 the library was issued a bond of $90,000. Since its opening in 1938 the library has grown and now has over 50,000 periodicals for residents to view. The library is staffed with three full time librarians to assist residents.
