Brentwood spans approximately 2.5 square miles in the heart of St. Louis County, Missouri. Its location places it just 1.5 miles west of the bustling city of St. Louis and all of its exciting attractions, which includes professional sports venues, museums, Forest Park, the Gateway Arch and the St. Louis Zoo. It is also minutes away from the St. Louis County seat in Clayton.
Brentwood is conveniently located off of I-64/ Highway 40 and I-170 (the Innerbelt), which offers a great advantage for commuters, visitors and businesses. With many structures along I-64 dating back more than 60 years, MoDOT launched the New I-64 project in 2000, which will improve the roadways and traffic flow from west of Spoede Road in the county to east of Kingshighway Boulevard in St. Louis. Construction began in March 2007 and is expected to culminate in 2010. While construction continues, the nearby I-44 remains a suitable alternate route to downtown St. Louis and beyond.
Within approximately 15 minutes, Brentwood residents reach Lambert-St. Louis International Airport—an excellent resource for regional, national and global travel. Those looking for an affordable way to travel locally have access to Brentwood’s MetroLink light rail station and a number of bus stops. Plus, the City offers the Magic Bus service for seniors aged 55+ or residents with a disability. Destinations include area hospitals, doctor’s offices, grocery stores and the Webster Senior Center, to name a few.
