The complex encompasses 105 acres and dozens of baseball/softball, football and soccer fields, pavilions and playgrounds. The City of Chesterfield has joined forces with St. Louis Cardinals superstar Albert Pujols and former St. Louis Cardinals Golden Glove catcher Mike Matheny to construct the new “Miracle Field” at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex. Instead of using dirt and natural grass, the “Miracle Field” has a rubberized surface, making it easier for youngsters who are athletically challenged. The community is also home to numerous health and fitness clubs.
The city has partnered with the Great Rivers Greenway District, and is currently working with consultants on the planning and design of a trail system which will extend on or near the Monarch-Chesterfield Levee in the valley. Phase I construction of the trail will extend from the Summit Ice Complex to the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex.
