There are many attractions for visitors to this area. Millions of people come to St. Louis every year to attend local professional sporting events, participate in tours and visit national monuments. Additionally, this mid-West location makes the area a prime spot for thousands of conventions and corporate meetings every year.
Much pride is taken in having St. Louis recently named the Best Sports City. There is something for everyone – baseball, football, hockey, soccer, racing (both horse and auto). Baseball fans come from all over the Midwest to cheer for the St. Louis Cardinals who began their 2006 season in the brand new Busch Stadium. Football fans have thoroughly enjoyed the many successful seasons of the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome in the Americas Center. The Savvis Center is home to the National Hockey League’s St. Louis Blues. Avid golfers have many quality-ranked courses to choose from throughout the community.
Anheuser-Busch has a long rich history in the St. Louis area – from the brewery offering tours of the historic Brew House to tours of Grant’s Farm. Grant’s Farm, located on 281 acres, borders Crestwood and is home to more than a thousand animals representing more than 100 different species from six continents. The Farm takes its name from our 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. In the 1850s, Grant founded and farmed a portion of the 281 acres. Today this land is preserved as a living symbol of the Busch Family’s love for animals and Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to wildlife conservation and preservation. St. Louis’ Grant’s Farm is one of the breeding operations for the world famous Budweiser Clydesdales where 35 mares and stallions produce up to 15 foals a year.
Located less than 5 minutes from the two cities is The Magic House, a St. Louis Children’s Museum dedicated to providing children with hands-on learning experiences in a creative and stimulating environment. The Magic House, which opened in 1979, has received national recognition for its exhibits and educational programming and is one of the most attended children’s museums in the country with 400,000 visitors annually.
The St. Louis Region boasts of many outstanding parks. The City of Sunset Hills is home to Laumeier Sculpture Park – located on 116 acres within Sunset Hills’ borders and is one of the top sculpture parks in the nation. Many other attractions are within a short drive from the cities including: Six Flags, The Gateway Arch, St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Science Center, Missouri Botanical Garden, Forest Park, Union Station, Transportation Museum, The Art Museum, Missouri Wineries, The Muny Opera, The Fabulous Fox Theater, Powell Symphony Hall, Bowling Hall of Fame, and more.
