Caring for Seniors
County Older Residents Program (CORP) is available to area “seniors”. CORP provides practical information and assistance for residents over 60 years of age. CORP’s Good Neighbor Services cover such things as home visits, shopping services, telephone reassurance, transportation services, handyman help/home repairs, home chores, referral services for social security and taxes, bus schedules, legal issues, crime prevention, and much more. Crestwood’s Department of Public Services sponsors many ongoing activities and programs for seniors, as well. Scheduled to open in late-2006 is Crestwood Senior Living, a 116-unit retirement facility to be located at Watson and Grant Roads in Crestwood.
Facilities offering everything from independent retirement living to full skilled nursing care and rehabilitative services can be found in the community. Full service, continuum of care facilities include Bethesda Dilworth, Delmar Gardens South, and Friendship Village.
