
The Independence Chamber of Commerce represents a partnership of member businesses and professional people making a difference in the community. From retail and professional services to manufacturing and technological production, Chamber members provide goods and services, jobs and tax revenue to benefit our community.
Organized in 1920, the Independence Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit, community-based organization dedicated to promoting the economic growth of Independence. The Independence Chamber of Commerce is accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and is governed by more than 760 member businesses who elect a 22-member board of directors that determines policies and sets goals. The board employs a president who hires a professional staff to handle daily operations. All programs are focused on the Chamber’s mission: to provide leadership and service to promote the economic growth of Independence. The Chamber’s goals and yearly planned program of action are accomplished through the collective efforts of the board, staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.
