There were two city hall locations prior to the present address at 2120 Hord. Jennings mirrors the suburban development that took place following World War II. It covers 3.73 square miles that lie along the northwestern boundary of St. Louis. This city is blessed with a number of old homes. One that is undergoing renovation to become a Cosmotology Museum is pictured to the left. Another in the city is reffered to as the Boat House. It looks like a boat near a river with porch and railing for fishing or tying up boats. Rejuvenation of one of Jennings largest shopping centers is a welcome change. It was the first large shopping centers in the North County area. Another abandoned shopping center is for sale and its fate has not yet been determined. Jennings has several business areas located on the West Florissant, Jennings Station Road and Lewis and Clark Roads. One of its major corporations is Stout Signs (large commercial signs). Jennings has a stable government that is moving upward. Its Historic Society keeps citizens aware of its rich heritage.
Interstate 70 stretches near the citys southwestern border. Other major thoroughfares include W. Florissant Avenue, Halls Ferry Road, Jennings Station, and Lucas and Hunt Road. Koeneman Park provides excellent recreation opportunities for residents. It features ball diamonds, handball and tennis courts, picnic pavilions, and playgrounds. The citys recreation department provides the full spectrum of activities and recreation for residents. Population
