Poplar Bluff has a wide range of educational opportunities for students at all stages.
From quality public schools to private institutions and continuing education programs, learning is an essential part of the community.
Poplar Bluff is served by the R-1 School District, the home of the Mules. The school district includes Kinyon Early Childhood Center, Mark Twain Kindergarten Center, Eugene Field Elementary (1-4), Lake Road Elementary (1-4), Oak Grove Elementary (1-4), O’Neal Elementary (1-4), Fifth and Sixth Grade Center, Junior High (7-8), Senior High (9-12) and Technical Careers Center.
The schools’ first priority is, in partnership with parents and the community, to educate all students to their potential and inspire each one to become lifelong learners.
Poplar Bluff is also home to several private schools that serve students’ educational, as well as religious, needs. Agape Christian School, Sacred Heart Catholic School, Southern Missouri Christian School and Zion Lutheran all offer alternatives to a public education.
