The Twin City Area offers outdoor and indoor water experiences. For summer fun in the sun, Crystal City Park is home to a municipal pool.
For year-round aquatic programs and swimming, the YMCA of Jefferson County has an indoor 64-meter pool. Sessions for public swimming are available at the Jefferson College Pool, where you can perfect your diving skills. Boating enthusiasts are a short skip from the scenic Mississippi River that borders Crystal City.
Local recreational opportunities include tennis, leagues for adults and children, baseball, basketball, soccer, fishing, batting cages, movies, bowling, martial arts and skating. There are several parks where you can hike, walk, run or just enjoy the peaceful wooded surroundings.
Crystal City Public Library offers an elementary school reading program and a Summer Story Hour for children, as well as large print books and books on tape for adults and children alike. Festus Public Library has a weekly year-round children’s story time, a separate Children’s Library, videos and compact discs, fax and copy service. Both local libraries offer computer use and Internet access.
