 Residents
of the Waynesville/St.Robert area trust that they will receive the best
healthcare available. Since its founding in 1951, Phelps County Regional
Medical Center has established itself as south central Missouri's innovative
leader in surgery, oncology, radiology, orthopedics and internal and emergency
medicine.Located in Rolla, Missouri, Phelps County Regional Medical Center
boasts 240 beds and almost 1,000 full- and part-time employees. As a regional
referral center, its facilities include an acute care hospital, a long-term
care unit, a skilled nursing facility, an acute inpatient rehabilitation
center, and a psychiatric treatment center. The Medical Center is a teaching
affiliate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and the University
of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine.
In
order to improve their services, St. John's Mercy Medical Center has also
in recent years moved into a larger, more expanded facility. St.
John's, as well as a few other hospitals, are looking into the possibility
of building a small hospital in this community to serve the immediate
area. Expanding the current health care options in our area is a top priority
to our community members.
Other
professional care providers include a number of dentists, ophthalmologists,
chiropractors and other private physicians practicing in modern offices
throughout the region.
