The Chamber worked very
hard and was instrumental in passing Pulaski County's new hotel/motel tax. With
this 3% bed tax, the County was able to form the Pulaski County Tourism
Board. This non-profit organization employs a Director of Pulaski County
Tourism whose goal is to make sure that Pulaski County is marketed as a
travel destination throughout the United States!Housed in the same office
as the Waynesville-St. Robert Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tourism Bureau
is growing at a rapid pace. The Tourism Bureau is currently planning the
construction of a brand new Tourism
Center, where the Chamber of Commerce will also be housed, to be located
on I-44 right off Exit 161. The Chamber is very proud of its efforts to
get the Tourism Bureau off the ground, and hopes that by promoting tourism
in Pulaski County, we will also be gaining lots of new business for our
members, and welcoming more new growth into our area.
The
Waynesville/St. Robert area is rich with history, and the scenic beauty
of the Ozark landscape lends it to an abundance of recreational opportunities,
including swimming, fishing hunting, hiking, horseback riding and spelunking.
A number of fine hotels and motels offer over 1,000 rooms to choose from
to ensure a comfortable stay.
