The City of Beatrice operates 10 parks in town, including a skate park and dog-friendly park.
Visitors to the local park sites discover ball fields, tennis courts, playground equipment, picnic areas, campsites and horseshoe pits. Nearby, recreational enthusiasts have access to Rockford Lake State Recreation Area — a 150-acre fishing and power boating lake encompassed by 286 acres of land utilized for hiking, camping, picnicking and hunting — and the 250-acre Big Indian Recreation Area — featuring a boat dock, hiking trails, an archery course, playground equipment and areas for fishing, picnicking, swimming and camping.
The Mary Family Beatrice YMCA is a fantastic recreation resource that houses a well-equipped fitness center, group exercise space and an indoor, Olympic-sized pool. Year-round programming includes aquatics, gymnastics, adult and youth sports, child care and more.
The community is also home to two well-maintained, 18-hole golf courses — the Beatrice Country Club and Hidden Acres Golf Course — and the Big Blue Water Park. This summertime favorite features a 9,000-square-foot, zero-depth pool, an interactive youth pool, water slides, diving boards and concessions.
