Recreation is abounding in this area with four golf courses, 14 parks and playgrounds spanning 284 acres, hiking and biking trails, the second largest water park in the state – Pawnee Plunge – a great indoor Aquatic Center, the sizable Columbus Family YMCA and the Loup River and Platte River recreational areas.
What’s more, residents and visitors relish in the area’s variety of family-friendly events including golf tournaments, concerts, car shows and much more. The city’s main event, bringing in a host of visitors from around the Midwest, is Columbus Days, held in August. Concentrated in Frankfort Square, this event offers guests a number of fun activities, ideal for the whole family.
