Specialized programs at Good Samaritan include a full service Heart Center offering open-heart surgery, a progressive joint replacement program, a Level II trauma center, a newly remodeled Family Birth Center, a 29,000 square foot Health Development Center and an oncology program accredited by the American College of Surgeons housed in a newly constructed free-standing Cancer Center.

In March 2005, Good Samaritan opened the newest portion of its campus—a 137,000 square foot, three-story West Tower that includes expanded intensive and progressive care units in a patient and family-centered design. Good Samaritan’s Healthy Living Center, offering disease prevention, education and alternative treatment programs, is also found on the ground floor of the West Tower.

The Mid-Nebraska Telemedicine Network at Good Samaritan allows healthcare specialists to consult, advise and assist with medical procedures from a distance while allowing patients and families to remain close to home.

Richard H. Young Hospital (RYH) is an 80-bed psychiatric and chemical-dependency facility offering inpatient and outpatient treatments as well as addictive-behavior care for adults, adolescents and children.

Kearney offers skilled nursing facilities with numerous luxurious assisted living accommodations. Services are overseen at these state and federally accredited facilities by a skilled nursing staff, licensed physicians and medical directors.

Kearney is nestled in the middle of one of the nation’s healthiest counties, Buffalo County. Kearney has proven this fact by attaining a national award — Well City USA in 2000. Buffalo County is also home to national award winning - Buffalo County Community Partners. The Partners is a locally driven, nationally leading healthy community initiative that started 10 years ago in Buffalo County. America’s Promise — The Alliance for Youth announced that Buffalo County/Kearney area is a winner of the first-ever national competition to identify 100 Best Communities for Young People. The winning communities were celebrated for their commitment to provide healthy, safe and caring environments for young people. Buffalo County received the 100 Best honor, in part, because of the volunteer opportunities for youth, mentoring programs, youth leadership programs, and youth advocacy initiatives.
