Lincoln Healthcare

hospital

Lincoln residents have peace of mind knowing that some of the finest doctors and medical facilities are minutes from their home. These excellent facilities, which include hospitals, surgical centers, physicians' offices, in-home care agencies and rehabilitation centers, help maintain a quality healthcare system for the entire community.

Exemplary care is provided at the two campuses of BryanLGH Medical Center. These two acute-care facilities provide award-winning care in a variety of specialties, including cardiology, orthopedics, trauma, neurology/neurosurgery, mental health, women's health, and oncology.

BryanLGH Medical Center is bringing about improved and expanded clinical services at both its East and West campuses, as well as making operating procedures more efficient. New construction is also making it possible for the hospital to accommodate future demand for services at both locations.

BryanLGH is the first hospital in Nebraska to use "brachytheraphy," considered a major advancement in the treatment of blocked arteries caused by tissue re-growth. BryanLGH is also the only Nebraska hospital recognized by the latest Top 100 Hospitals: Benchmarks for Success study, a prestigious recognition that BryanLGH has now received for the second year.

HealthGrades, a healthcare quality ratings, information and advisory services company, ranked BryanLGH number one in Nebraska for overall cardiac services and for heart surgery. BryanLGH was also ranked number one in the region for resection/replacement of abdominable aorta, orthopedics, total knee replacement and total hip replacement. HealthGrades also cited BryanLGH as the region's best in the treatment of strokes.

St. Elizabeth Regional

Lincoln's oldest hospital, Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, is more than midway through an extensive expansion project that will enable the hospital to increase its patient services. The new six-story patient tower will have 150 adult private rooms, 12 labor and delivery suites, 27 neonatal beds and 14-16 operating suites. Plus, there will be a new four-story medical office building. Remodeling of the current facility will convert all patient rooms to private rooms, expand the emergency room to include 25 examination rooms, expand the diagnostic services center and will include a new parking garage.

Saint Elizabeth has a strong tradition of excellence in newborn intensive care, maternity, pediatrics, burn care and orthopedics. Their most recent areas of excellence include a Heart Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program, neonatal care for infants with special needs and a Joint Replacement Center.

St. Elizabeth is part of a network of family practice and internal medicine clinics, including three stand-alone urgent care centers, two off-site therapy centers and a cardiovascular rehabilitation center.

Quality care by a dedicated team of doctors and staff members for military veterans is available at the Veterans Administration Hospital.

madonna rehabilitation hospital

Lincoln is also home to the Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, considered a premier rehabilitation facility for adults and children, offering specialized programs and services for those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury or other injury or illness. Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital has partnered with the University of Nebraska to open the Institute for Rehabilitation Science & Engineering, a research facility quickly becoming a premier teaching and training site.

Seniors can receive home care services from Tabitha Health Care Services, a Christian provider of rural and urban health and related services for elders. Tabitha provides home care services in nearly 30 Nebraska counties and has 700 employees and 1,000 volunteers. Tabitha coordinates its services with community physicians and hospitals to provide individual care in the patient's home or at Tabitha's Rehabilitation Center.

In addition, Lincoln residents can access a 24-hour information and services line, and an extended-hour illness and injury clinic called Linc-Care. There are also many nursing homes and assisted living facilities serving the area. Lincoln is home to nearly 250 dentists and more than 535 doctors who attend to the medical needs of a growing community.
