Putting the Focus on Learning

Many Omaha companies offer quality childcare options for multi-tasking parents. First National Bank’s Child Development Center can care for up to 200 of the bank employees’ children. The innovative environment includes 16 classrooms/playrooms designed for five different age levels. Managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the curriculum is based on quality standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to balance education and play activities. Parents are encouraged to drop by for lunch or visit as their schedules permit.

Union Pacific has a 20,000-square-foot childcare center near the railroad’s downtown headquarters.

Alegent Health’s Immanuel, Bergan Mercy and Mercy-Council Bluffs campuses offer childcare for employees’ children from infants through age 12, and the childcare facility at Bergan Mercy Medical Center has a certified kindergarten. Also, the Pediatric Place at Bergan Mercy has an “Under the Weather” care program for children with minor injuries or illnesses.

The Goddard School offers childcare services for infants up to pre-k. Hands-on learning centers offer a fun foundation of music, math, creative art, world cultures and even nutrition and yoga.

The Child Saving Institute (CSI) developmental childcare offers accredited daily services for children six weeks old through age six. Omaha’s largest nature/classroom playground for wide-eyed youngsters can be found at the CSI’s midtown location. Accredited through the NAEYC and the Council on Accreditation (COA), CSI’s curriculum focuses on helping young children to develop healthy social and emotional skills. Care is available to families of all economic levels.

Gallup’s Donald O. Clifton Child Development Center is a nationally recognized early childhood program. Its state-of-the-art building enhances children’s development through the creation of child- and teacher-friendly areas. Teachers each have a small group of children in their own classroom; the same group stays together for several years, fostering a stable, stimulating and caring environment. The building includes a preschool and toddler gym, lunchroom, enclosed patios for infants, indoor water room and tricycle track for tots with the need for speed.

With all of these programs to choose from, young professionals in Omaha can focus on their careers, comforted by the knowledge that their young ones are in good hands.
