When it comes to shopping, there’s never a dull moment in Sidney, Nebraska. Just park your vehicle in the historic downtown area and set out on foot. You don’t have to worry about your vehicle, or walking alone in Sidney. It’s one of the safest communities you’ll ever visit. Besides, the walk past Sidney’s many historic buildings is enjoyable. Inside these restored old buildings there are lots of interesting shops and friendly merchants to help you find what you’re looking for or share a warm smile.

You may not find any Gucci bags, but you’ll find a good selection of the latest styles in clothing, jewelry, crafts, collectables, thrift shops, home décor, appliances, office supplies, hair stylists and full service spas, restaurants, pharmacies, a café, health food, and a quaint coffee shop/bookstore where you can browse from the comfort of a soft chair while you enjoy a delicious cappuccino. Downtown offers just about anything imaginable for the home repair specialist as well as the aspiring decorator.

You can even satisfy your sweet tooth with a taste of homemade kettle fudge from Western Drug that’s also offered in the shape of a pasture pie, complete with a decorative box so you can share it with unsuspecting friends back home.

Near the I-80 interchange you’d be hard pressed to miss the huge Cabela’s retail store, where you can find anything necessary for the outdoor disciplines. You’ll also find some great bargains in Cabela’s Bargain Cave, where returned and discontinued items are offered at a fraction of their retail value. This store also features a full service marine maintenance facility along with a wide selection of today’s popular watercraft, as well as ATVs and accessories for motor sports.

Naturally, there’s a new Super Wal-Mart right near the exit ramp, for all your travel needs including groceries, deli and spirits. This store is open 24-7 for your shopping convenience.

Also located near I-80 are a locally owned Radio Shack and Showtime Video along with your choice of fast food restaurants such as McDonald’s, Arby’s, Runza, KFC, Taco Bell, and Dairy Queen. There are a number of family-style eating options as well including Perkins Restaurant and Bakery, Mi Ranchito Mexican restaurant, Buffalo Point Steakhouse, Wheat Ridge Steakhouse, and a Pizza Hut Bistro.
