New Englanders are known for their fierce dedication to faith and family and Lebanon is no different. Within a minute’s walk of Colburn Park, the city’s geographic center, there is a healthy blend of spiritual diversity with no less than five churches and within a 15-mile radius of the city an even greater variety of faiths can be found.
Service & Organizations
For 34 years, Upper Valley United Way located on 10 Bank Street in Lebanon, has supported health and human service programs that address the needs of our friends and neighbors in crisis. Their mission is to coordinate a system of providers, users of services, and volunteer contributors to meet the human service needs of the Upper Valley community and to improve the quality of life for all residents.
Upper Valley United Way provides more than $1,250,000 to 60 programs offered by 29 agencies, building a stronger and more vibrant community. Contributing to the United Way is an outstanding way to invest in your community.
Outside of UVUW’s family of supported organizations, there are approximately 90 additional non-profits that fund themselves through private donations.
Working side-by-side with these non-profit agencies are the volunteer service clubs, abundant in the Upper Valley. Lebanon boasts a Lions Club, a Kiwanis Club and two Rotary Clubs, all of which work hard to raise money for worthy community causes throughout the year.
