Thriving Local Business

worship

Shopping is not a problem in the Upper Valley. Lebanon alone has 10 plazas, one indoor mall, one pedestrian mall and five major grocery stores. Several nationwide chains of department stores anchor each plaza. For a complete list, please contact the Chamber or refer to the member directory in the back of this book.

Many local businesses still thrive among their national competitors and the combination of variety and no sales tax makes Lebanon the primary destination for the region’s shoppers.

Every Thursday, from June to September, Colburn Park in downtown Lebanon hosts an outdoor Farmer’s Market, where you can enjoy wonderful selections of locally grown fresh produce, plants, prepared foods, baked goods and beautiful crafts. Every Saturday, from spring through autumn, Norwich, Vermont also hosts an outdoor Farmer’s Market, where antique dealers, farmers and local craftspeople bring their goods to sell. Similar markets are common throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Fresh vegetables, children’s clothing, restoration furniture, ceramics and artwork are just a small sample of the special and unique items available for purchase.
