Brick Township, NJ Chamber of Commerce

Envisioning Tomorrow’s Future Today

Brick is taking big steps on its already established path to ensure the high quality of life continues for generations to come. Steady growth has generated needs for critical infrastructure alterations, and the Township is using its resources to continually find solutions.

A 120-acre reservoir on the northwest end of the Township provides the community’s future water supply needs. Its one billion gallon capacity is a guarantee of adequate water supplies, as well as insurance against the negative effects of unforeseeable droughts. Careful planning and engineering of the reservoir has eliminated such complications as the accumulation of unwanted runoff and waste, in that it lies on the highest point in Brick.

As a shore community, the Township has also looked down the road for economically responsible means to improve traffic flow, which is of particular concern during the summer months.

Among these accomplishments is the Manasquan River Bridge, which will replace the outdated drawbridge. A new, fixed, vertical bridge will alleviate much of the traffic congestion caused by frequent opening of the drawbridge during the area’s popular boating season. In addition, the new Mantoloking Bridge has made beach access eminently more convenient and accessible with its sturdier, taller span.

Several recent improvements on the Garden State Parkway will ease heavy volume during rush hours and summer traffic for many years. These include a northbound exit ramp connecting to Burrsville Road, a northbound entrance ramp accessible from Burnt Tavern Road that eases commuting, and a southbound exit that connects to the back of the Park ‘n Ride lot on Lanes Mills Road.

The Route 70 commercial corridor of retail stores, food chains and businesses continues expanding, providing more opportunities and conveniences for companies and residents alike.

A new park is planned for the 11.5-acre site at the eastern end of the Mantoloking Bridge, providing residents with leisure activities, including a picnic area and a playground. Fisherman will enjoy easy access to the Barnegat Bay with an intended marina, public boat launch, dock and boardwalk. Preserving land and giving it back to the community is one of the many ways Brick utilizes its resources for the future.
