The proximity from Edison to these top schools also gives it huge benefits, such as Middlesex County College, situated in Edison, as well as its proximity to Rutgers University, which is about a 10-minute drive away. It also gives opportunities for those who need vocational and technical training to enter such schools as Lincoln Tech, Middlesex County Vocational & Technical School and DeVry University. One of Edison’s greatest appeals has been its capability to produce the best students who are able to go on to the top colleges and universities in the U.S.

Middlesex County College opened in 1966 with an enrollment of more than 1,000 students. Currently, the college enrolls more than 12,000 students in a variety of majors, including business administration and education. The college is situated on 200 acres in our Township and offers a comprehensive curriculum designed for one of the most diverse student bodies in the country. The college offers a very well-rounded education with a strong faculty-to-student ratio, which places students in a more focused educational environment that enhances their personal and career outcomes. As one of the best county colleges in the nation, some students are trained in vocational fields (computer maintenance and hotel management), while others use their experience at MCC to build a strong foundation as they continue their higher education in four-year schools after graduation. Students may transfer credits to St. Peter’s College in Jersey City for Bachelor of Science Biotechnology programs. MCC has a similar transfer agreement with Rutgers University. www.middlesex.cc.nj.us.
