Madison, NJ Chamber of Commerce

Healthcare

The Madison Chamber of Commerce, founded more than 60 years ago, is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization comprised of business leaders dedicated to the interests of Madison. The Chamber’s vital projects support both businesses and Madison residents.

The primary function of the Chamber is to support, preserve and develop business in Madison. Activities for members include free monthly educational and lecture series, networking opportunities and after-hours business card exchanges. Program topics have included fraud prevention, town-gown relations, advertising and websites, updates on parking proposals, and community improvement projects. The Chamber also schedules dialogue opportunities with town officials when matters concerning the business community arise. To maintain communications with the membership, there are monthly General Membership meetings and a bi-monthly newsletter.

The Chamber originated the popular Value Savings Card with special discounts available from Chamber businesses; provides a town calendar to all households in Madison; organizes holiday shopping promotions, fire extinguisher inspections, charity poker tournaments, and the town Gift Certificate Program; sponsors the Holiday Home Decorating Contest/Awards and a Merchant of the Month program; and hosts the Annual Business Improvement Awards and Picnic.

The Chamber has also supported community playground renovations, bicycle safety programs and improvements to the Madison Community House. The Chamber is currently raising funds for a state-of-the-art photo identification system for children to be used in conjunction with the Madison Police Department.

The Chamber actively participates in many community organizations, including the Downtown Development Commission, Madison Recreation Department, RoseNet and the University Relations Committee. The Chamber sponsors the Black Maria Film Festival in the spring, the Annual Art Show and Sidewalk Sale in June, the Antique and Custom Car Show in October, and (in conjunction with Rotary and DDC) the popular Taste of Madison in January.
