

On top of the medley of annual events planned for the community throughout the calendar year, Metuchen also has many cultural and entertainment venues offering a wide array of performances and special programs for all to enjoy.
Local talent appears at monthly “coffeehouses” at the Borough Improvement League Building. Performers include poets, actors and musicians of various musical backgrounds.
The ambiance is enhanced with snacks and beverages provided by local businesses and residents.

The summer months bring an outdoor musical concert series to the Metuchen Senior Citizen Center. Musical diversity is the key to this event with a wide range of styles from classical to country western.
Children’s plays and a host of additional special events are held at the Metuchen Public Library, a community treasure since its inception in 1870 as a small reading room. Dedicated in 1937, the current structure, which has seen several expansion and renovation projects over the years, stands as a meeting place for the Metuchen area’s community and civic groups.
